Our Journey

Established in 2003 as a specialized agricultural consultancy by Ugandan Economists and Agronomists with years of prior commercial, government extension, and donor project experience, AMA has delivered its training, technical and analytical support services within Uganda, and across East Africa, to thousands of smallholder farmers and dozens of agribusinesses.

AMA clients are donor funded programs and practitioners, government ministries, and commercial companies, including USAID, DANIDA, World Bank, European Union, COLEACP, DFID, the FAO, Farm Africa, IFDC, Heifer International, Swisscontact, DAI, Technoserve, Coca-Cola.

The company leads both short and intermediate-term assignments, and typically subcontracts on multi-year projects.

For example, such consultants have individually carried out consultancies for GIZ/AGRUFIN Project and conducted training of three FI partners (Finance Trust Bank, Housing Finance Bank, Tropical Bank, and PBU) in Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda.

AMA is led by Managing Director Umran Kaggwa and executive agronomists Luseesa David and Lawrence Mayanja, with other AMA staff and associates possessing in-depth knowledge of multiple products, commercial markets, water resource management, and climate change mitigation.
